A simple, cost-effective way of ensuring a property's Reservations Sales Team is converting the incoming calls at an appropriate rate and at an appropriate room rate is to conduct periodic shopping calls.

The evaluation criteria used may be customized to meet the property's specific needs. Typically, they include such skill areas as product knowledge, qualifying the caller, overcoming objections, positioning the property, selling other services, etc.
