Prior to joining Guest Research as a Research Assistant, Ms. Gouwens served as the
Fundraising and Development Coordinator for National Ski Patrol Systems, Inc. where
she acted as liaison between key board members, committee members and executive
office staff in generating new sources of revenue for the non-profit organization
of ski patrols throughout the US, Canada and Europe. She coordinated fundraising
efforts, silent auctions, and initiated the first online auction fundraiser. Prior
to her position with the National Ski Patrol, Ms. Gouwens spent several years in
the hospitality industry while working at the four-diamond Mirror Lake Inn Resort
and Spa in Lake Placid, NY, as well as the prestigious Denver Country Club in Denver,
CO. She has also spent several winters coaching young, aspiring ski racers.

Education

Ms. Gouwens graduated from the University of Denver in 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree
in Biology and minors in Business and Sociology. While at DU, Ms. Gouwens was a
competitive ski racer, spent 6 months studying abroad in New Zealand, and co-founded
the International Society – a successful group of students dedicated to encouraging
fellow students and faculty to enjoy ethnic diversity both abroad and within the
Denver community.
